More Than Just Flowers: How Your Order Supports Make-A-Wish Ireland

by Cian Burrowes on April 03, 2026

Quick answer: Yes. The Flower Factory donates €1 from every bouquet sold to Make-A-Wish Ireland, a charity that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. Nothing extra is needed from you. It happens with every order, automatically.

We have been partnered with Make-A-Wish Ireland for a few years now and it is honestly one of the things we are most proud of as a business. We do not talk about it enough, so we thought it was worth writing about. Here is how it works, why we got involved, and what it actually means when you order from us.

What is Make-A-Wish Ireland?

Make-A-Wish Ireland is a charity that grants wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions. They have been doing this since 1992 and have granted wishes to more than 3,600 children across Ireland in that time. In 2025 alone they granted 229 wishes.

These are not token gestures. They are real, personal experiences that mean something to a child and their family at one of the most difficult times of their lives. The charity exists entirely because of donations and partnerships from businesses and individuals around Ireland.

How We Got Involved

We sell flowers for a living. People buy from us when they want to do something kind for someone else. It made sense to us that the business itself should reflect that same idea.

So we made a straightforward commitment: €1 from every bouquet we sell goes to Make-A-Wish Ireland. No minimum order. No special product you have to choose. Every single bouquet, every single time.

It was not complicated to set up and it did not require a big announcement. We just got on with it.

Does €1 Actually Make a Difference?

We get why that question comes up. On its own, one euro is one euro. But Make-A-Wish Ireland does not rely on one donation. Wishes are funded collectively, through hundreds of businesses and thousands of customers contributing over time.

In the last 5 months alone we have fulfilled over 6000 orders. The number adds up. And every wish that gets granted off the back of that is a child somewhere in Ireland who got something they will not forget.

Why We Did Not Make a Bigger Deal of It

We were a bit wary of it coming across as a marketing tactic. The partnership is real and the donation happens regardless of whether we talk about it publicly. We did not want it to feel like something we were using to sell more flowers.

But customers have been asking us about it directly, and we realised that people genuinely want to know where their money goes. They appreciate that their order does something beyond arriving at a front door. So here it is, written out plainly.

If you have ordered from us before, you have already been part of this. If you are thinking about ordering, now you know.
